‘Dance is elemental; an inspiration and a metaphor for life, never more so than in flamenco with its strong emphasis on expression. Strong, passionate, playful or tender, it gets to the soul of both dancer and audience.’
Christine teaches a regular Wednesday night flamenco class at major southeast arts venue South Hill Park Arts Centre, Bracknell, Berkshire, all abilities welcome. For more information contact her and/or visit www.southhillpark.org.uk
Flamenco Background
For the past fifteen years Christine has studied and practised flamenco, travelling to London and Spain for tuition with the genre’s top teachers. As well as teaching workshops in schools and elsewhere – including teaching and performing on board a cruise ship, she also gives performances with her group Flamenco Magico. A great believer in the power of dance to enhance people’s lives, she also encourages her students to perform.
Dance Background
Christine first trained in Margaret Morris Movement (MMM) and is still a registered teacher of this highly unusual dance technique that demands a thorough knowledge of anatomy in its teachers and develops suppleness and mobility in all who practise it.
Across flamenco and MMM and - during more years than she cares to remember - Christine has taught dance to children and adults, choreographed and performed and developed good stagecraft. Notably, she has appeared in several movement and dance festivals at London’s Royal Albert Hall
